Due to the high quality of the wool that they use in their rugs, their products have been always in demand. However, Turkoman rugs' patterns are over 800 years old and have been copied by the nomads who moved to some parts of Afghanistan, though not having access to the same quality wool, never made their crafts a real competition for the original ones.
